Over the summer months, it can often be challenging for parents and caregivers to maintain a sense of structure and routine for children and youth. This can be especially challenging for transitional-age youth who have aged out of summer camp programs, as well as for children and youth who are not eligible for programs or simply do not want to attend.
This webinar explores how parents and caregivers can support their children and youth, as well as themselves, throughout the summer while fostering independence.
The session offers practical tips and guidance for involving children and youth in summer planning, creating routines while balancing structured and unstructured time, building a support network, and developing a safety plan with your child. It also provides information about community resources and supports available to support your child and family.
The webinar is facilitated by peer supporters who are parents with lived experience. It is hosted by Vicki Cochrane from Parents and Caregivers for Mental Health (PCMH) and co-facilitated by Pamela McPhee-Marinuzzi from Pleo, Chrystal Becker from PCMH, and Andrea Garnett from Interwoven Connections. The webinar is offered in English.
